MTB 418 - class

These boats transferred from the Royal Navy after the plan arose to form a second Dutch flotilla ( next to the 9th flotilla ), which was named the 2nd flotilla. Originally, these were MGBs ( motorgunboats ) and the plan was to convert them to MTBs ( motortorpedoboats ). Eventually, the conversion was cancelled. All boats survived the war and in contrast with the MTB 222 and MTB 202-types, they never carried birdnames.

ex-MGB 432 British Power Boat, Hythe Commissioned April 18 1944, stricken September 23 1945 and returned to Royal Navy in 1946.

MTB 433 (ex-MGB 114) British Power Boat, Hythe Commissioned as MGB-114 on December 29 1942. Rebuilt and recommissioned MTB-433 on April 4 1944. She conducted patrols in the Channel area. Decommissioned November 6 1945 and rebuilt as torpedo recovery boat RJ-2 and recommissioned on April 20 1948. Later renamed "Jachthond" with pennant A-964. Reclassified patrolboat in 1953 with pennant P-884. Stricken in 1955.

* The ship MTB-453 surfaces time after again as commissioned in the Dutch navy in April 1944. This ship is not mentioned in my regular sources, nor can I find any information regarding her history. Further information is appreciated.
